Important Considerations

Isuzu’s N series trucks all fall between class 3 (GVWR of 10,001–14,000) and class 5 chassis (GVWR of 16,001–19,500) meaning a CDL is not required to operate any RidgeRock Converted Cabover. Be aware that business vehicles with a GVWR of more than 10,001 pounds is subject to federal and state safety regulations for the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles and will require DOT number.


While the cabin comforts and overall design of the chassis remains largely the same, you may want to consider the ride quality of your chassis when loaded and unloaded. Every RidgeRock conversion includes tuning the rear spring pack to the truck and expected load on the rear axle. We cannot however increase the vehicles overall GVWR or entirely smooth out the ride of a dramatically underloaded truck.
